This is another recipe along the lines of the whoopie pies from last week - jumping on the bandwagon, so to speak, and I’m looking straight at Adriano Zumbo to blame here - although there’s a slight difference in this case as I have eaten many macarons in my time and none of them, none of them, looked like the above monstrosity.
They tasted nice, and in the Masterchef-y, consolatory way I suppose that helped, but only so much.
The cream? Well, for the sake of getting a shot, and because it refused to whip for some reason, I panicked and thickened it with cornflour.
*hangs head*
DIGNITY? WHAT DIGNITY?

This is week thirty-one of the 1 recipe a week for a year ‘living list’ challenge. (31/52).

I feel your pain. When I had a go at making macarons they looked so dismal I wouldn’t even take a photo! Every. Time! Even with my boyfriend the chef giving me feedback on how to do better next time. I haven’t had another attempt in a long while.
They have always seemed daunting to try and make at home, I’m going to assume that is the case and will continue to steer clear
