Adam and I have been together now for over fifteen happy years. Sure, there’s been bad patches, but they’ve been far outweighed by the good. In university, for example, we were the couple told most often to go “get a room.”
It’s not all sunshine, however. Oh, no. Check out last night for example.

Me: What?
Him: For the love of God, stop, please stop.
Me: What?
Him: Talking. Stop with the talking. For one minute. Stop. Please.
Me: I’m sensing a theme here.
Him: {headesk}

Our tenth wedding anniversary is creeping closer (December) and I haven’t the foggiest idea as to the best way to celebrate it or what present to buy. Truth be told, though, I’ve not thought much about it prior to twenty seconds ago when it came to typing out that sentence. Now I’m sitting here not so much worried as perturbed – that’s another item to go on the ‘Better think about this now before it comes up and crushes you into the very dust.’
Suggestions are welcomed!

I’m pretty sure traditionally the tenth anniversary is the ‘tin’ or ‘aluminum’ anniversary, so a six pack?
Sorry, in all seriousness a small holiday is a good idea, or perhaps a commemorative portrait to hang on the wall beside the wedding portrait? Since my husband is a TV buff I’m planning to get him a bunch of ‘tenth anniversary’ DVDs for shows and movies he loves. I’ve got a few years, but when I come across them I’ll buy them and hide them somewhere he’ll never look – like the laundry basket ;p

Congrats on the upcoming anniversary, Karen. From everything I can tell, you guys have a great relationship; one to be admired and emulated.
And hey, without the bad patches, the good times would be just a bit diminished, yes?
Love the Lucy-Desi dialogue, by the way. Made me smile.
