I think it was inevitable that I should eventually read The Passage; after all, how could I refuse such a juicy, exciting premise of vampires dominating humans in a decimated world? It’s epic and ambitious, fast-paced and very readable…
… and yet I finished feeling a lack of something that it is hard to put my finger on. It may not even be the book’s fault, perhaps I set my expectations too high.
I’m looking forwards to settling in to Yesterday’s Weather. I’ve only just begun. I adore Anne Enright. The Rattle Bag is for me to take on holidays (I like reading poetry on long car trips), and Nine Lives because it’s new and looked interesting.
