This photo pretty much sums up for me what Term 1 has been like for Keira at school. She’s finding her way, growing into herself, and finding confidence: it’s her Beyonce Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) stance.
I was fully braced for the long-haul necessity of walking her into class every day, with tears and wailing, but it never happened. True, I must stand next to her in the morning lineup until her teacher arrives, while most other parents wait by the fence, but that’s okay. I don’t mind. No, the trickier time to manage (as I unwittingly discovered) is when I go into the classroom during hours to assist, but I’ll work my way through that somehow.
Reading is going well, her maths is possibly even better, and I’m very pleased all-round.
Now if she and Riley would stop teasing and pestering each other during the holidays … that would be nice!

I’m glad Keira is doing well at school.
She looks so grown up!
And I can so relate… except for the morning bit when my girls are desperate to fit in a quick play before the bell rings so they ditch me asap…. but the rest, even the maths part which surprises the heck out of me… the rest is us too.
My goodness, she has grown fast!
I remember the ‘Klute’ photo you posted after a haircut!
Good to hear school is a great place for her
