I have many weaknesses: movies with Tim Curry in them; open-faced hamburgers; second-hand bookshops, to name but a few. One of my biggest ones is buying vintage/op-shop clothing. Most of the clothes I’ve bought since moving to Melbourne have been second-hand and that is simply because this is the place for shopping.
In an occasional special I’ve (imaginatively… or not) called ‘Thrifty Thursday’ I will be celebrating my most favoured purchases. Unless said otherwise, these have come from Savers.
The first is a MinkPink dress which I wear at least once a week. Just look at those love hearts. Awww…
The necklace I got at Christmas (thanks, sis) sits lower than the photo shows (I pulled it up for the shot). It nestles in between my boobs a little, but I like the chain, so am prepared to live with it.

Oh, I love that dress! I want one.
I think I’ve said it before, but I really can’t wait to get down there again to visit and go shopping with you, I LOVE a bargain
We should have an op-shop off! Most of my clothing is also from the op-shop. That way I can finance my love of clothes.
Psst, there’s a typo in your headline!
Rachel – If I see another, I’ll get it for you
M – I’d love you guys to come, you know that
Jen – We should have an op-shop-off! You do some! and thanks re: typo.
You’d love the book “A Vintage Affair” by Isabel Wolff.
We’ve just got it in for an upcoming online competition and I love the look of it.
My next item for op-shop hunting is an autumn weight jacket. What’s yours?
