I don’t know about anyone else, but our tomatoes have been struggling. I’m not sure why. Did they get too much spring rain? Is that even possible?
I mean – just look at our garden this time last year! They were looking less like tomatoes than Triffids.
And 2010? Well, we harvested for the first time today.
This is what we got:
Not great, eh?
And our Romas aren’t looking healthy:
Can anyone help me with diagnosing what that brown bruise-like marks are? I’m not sure what to do. Perhaps it’s the same thing that was affecting one of the plants last year (see above post)?
At least there are still at least two more months to turn the situation around. It won’t feel like summer until I have too many tomatoes to know what to do with!

It looks like slug damage on one and blossom end rot on the other.

Thanks for the link – I think blossom end rot is the ticket. We had abig wet then some real hot days and the inconsistency of my watering prob all contributed. I will keep my eye out for slugs now too
thanks!
Maybe not best in show, but they are tomatoes!
Bet they still taste tonnes better than the store bought ones
Our cherry tomatoes are coming along ok, but the Romas wtill are just flowers. It’s is the weather inconsistency I think. Still, they are the only tomatoes Mali will eat raw, which is a win.
