Holiday book reading + the hazards of taking photos in this house

December 17, 2009

I was going to try. Really, I was. I was going take a photo of what holiday reading I’ve borrowed from the library.

uh-oh here's trouble

But the kids detected that I was trying to do something productive and decided to ‘help’.

boot in the face

And my son’s boot in the camera lense was just one of his bright ideas.

Fooling around

Eventually, they decided to settle down…

books

…before getting bored and finally leaving me in peace.

Such is the ups-and-downs of blogging/working in this house.

In case you can’t make out the adult titles they are:

* Anita Diamant, The Last Days of Dogtown
* Anne Enright, The Pleasure of Eliza Lynch
* Steven Carroll, The Time We Have Taken
* Jonathan Safran Foer, Everything is Illuminated

The kids ones are:

* Katie Clemenson, Box of Tricks
* Michael Foreman, A Child’s Garden: A Story of Hope
* Illustrated by K. V. Craft, Sleeping Beauty

Is it just me or does Riley look as old as Keira in that 3rd shot? Sorry, you probably didn’t want to hear that! Glad to see the kids looking so happy, even if they are being little rascals ;)
