crowds suck

Our holidays revolved around a routine of nothingness. We didn’t get out to visit any number of amazing museums, galleries or events specifically designed for holiday time in the city. Frankly, there is nothing that turns me off more than the prospect of lines, impatient, whiney children and the thought that any second my own will whisper those alarming words into my ears, “I need to go to the toilet. NOW.”

This will change, I hope, for I do not like being a party-pooper. It’s just when you have one child that is permanently attached to your leg while the other one constantly runs off (and the former child makes it hard to pursue the second) it often doesn’t add up to fun. I’m sure this will change in a matter of years and right now the kids didn’t seem too concerned about our inactivity. In fact whenever I suggested we go somewhere, do something, I got a chorus of “Nahs” as they turned back to the television.

I was relieved as I’ve been fighting off a low-grade, but surpremely uncomfortable, UTI since our snow day. So I’ve been lying around the house, writing, mooning, reading and taking photos of questionable quality.

Lazy saturday

It was nice while it lasted.

I hope you’re holidays, whether they’re over or still going, went just how you wanted: fast or slow; blissful or frantic.
