We cheated this week*. Being cold and rainy, on top of general holiday-time malaise, Adam and I rented a couple of our favourites: his being Grosse Pointe Blank and mine being The Cat’s Meow. For the record, The Cat’s Meow wouldn’t make my top-ten favourite movie list, but I can’t help but think it quirky and appealing. I think because it’s about Old Hollywood, a period of time I always enjoy learning about and watch being re-created. Plus, I have a thing for Eddie Izzard.
The new ones are Glory and Scarface (yes, I’ve never seen either).
Care Bears is Keira’s. Honestly.

:: quickly scrolls past the Care Bears DVD picture before my girls can see it and start nagging at me to put the Care Bears on ::
Scarface isn’t bad. Watched it last month. Watched Grosse Point Blank the night before last (it was on Austar). Also like The Cat’s Meow. Haven’t seen Glory so can’t comment.
I will say though, I watched a Care Bears DVD a while back, after only remembering it from my childhood, and remember being so disappointed at how dodgy the animation was- like it was a new picture every 5 seconds, instead of regular animation where their mouths move for every work. Sad.
Although after you watch Scarface, I bet you will be fighting the urge to put on a Cuban accent and walk around going “Say hello to my little friend!” It will happen…
‘Say hello to my little friend.’
Just reading about it has got me saying it! lol
Enjoy your movies
Talk about a variation. You’ll probably like the Care Bears one most of all!
