Award Time

Del has given me this award:

award

The Proximidade Award is described as: ‘This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY – nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes for self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!’This blog award should be sent to your favorite eight bloggers and they, in turn should forward to eight of their favorites. You should include the text for Proximidade (above) in your announcement blog.

I am very tardy when it comes to passing on awards and memes. I still haven’t done that ’25 Things About Me’ Facebook meme my cousin (Hi E!) tagged me with, and I apologise to Del for sitting on the Proximidade for a while. Truth is, I always get a little shy about passing these things on; throw in a bit of apprehension (DID I FORGET ANYONE?!) and, well, there you have it. I will pass it along to some fine people who were so supportive during the fires last week, even though they didn’t impact me directly.

Thank you to:

Tracey
Janet
Bettina

Jean-Luc

I’ve struggled a bit this week with my writing: a cross between throwing a pathetic arm across my brow and whimpering, “I can’t do it anymore!” and then getting angry and wanting to go kick in my back door. While I’m on the subject, I need to thank Sarah and Tracey. You ladies, at different times this week, have helped me stay at my desk to plug away. Writing can be such a secretive business, both ego-crippling and ego-tripping, so confusing that even if you think you nail a phrase, a sentence, a paragraph, it won’t matter because ultimately the piece can never serve the vision it was created to surmount. That if it’s not perfect, it’s not right, and if it’s not right, then it’s better off unsaid.

The crescendo builds to nothing.

These are the doubts I have daily. I’m learning to ignore them. But it’s hard. Thank you again x

Oh thsi award is perfect for you! So well deserved! I’ve not seen this award around the traps but feel very proud to be receiving it.
I’ve fallen in a heap with the design side of my gig this week and am just working on the ‘fake it till you make it’ idea… just keep plugging away until it all feels right again….
