First, it was my blog crashing.
Then I decided I’d hunt out our old Nikon digital camera – one I’m glad we kept since our Kodak is kaput. This Nikon was bought two weeks before our wedding in 2002, so now bears more than a passing resemblance to a toaster.
Fittingly, it’s 512mb memory card is about the size as a slice of toast; the 8gb one in our current one is that of a postage stamp. Quite remarkable, the difference a few years makes.
Anyhoo. Pictures.
So I got out the Nikon to take shots of our 30 odd boxes of books we’ve got stored from the move that never happened. Which I needed to open and hunt out titles for the blogging course I’ve started writing notes for, and also to look for old photo albums to scan some baby pictures and me in mega-skinny days (Why? I’ll tell later).
Then, later, I discovered the USB cable for the Nikon is missing, so until it is found the photos will remain marooned on the memory card.
In sum: unproductive.

Invest in one of those cheap doo-hickeys in which you can insert any kind of memory card and it’ll upload the pics to your PC via an inbuilt USB cable. The Spouse bought one for $20 and saves us fluffing about at times

Our video camera died before we got all those little mini DVs transferred to CDs. And of course, we have no videos of the kids for almost a year. I expect that will come up when they’re teenagers.
