Monkey See – Monkey Do

June 29, 2008

You know Season 10 of Top Gear? The episode where the boys are in Africa? The bit where they set to their cars with sledgehammers so as to lose chassis weight to cross the sand flats of Botswana?

You remember that part?

My son did – when he found a hammer in the garage the other morning…

Luckily I stopped him before any damage was done.

{If you have no idea what I’m talking about, go here and start watching at 3 minutes 50 sec}

Final book production meeting today. After which we’ll be ‘done’ – pending the viewing of the wet proofs which we’ll get back from Singapore mid-week. Then we will truly be ‘done’. Then it’s Champagne time!

I’ve been asked to put together and present a blogging workshop in the city – a ‘thinky’ one, to help budding writers do something like this. The more I think about it, the more exciting a prospect it is, actually. I might write more about it later once I’ve got some proper notes written down.

Last, the newspaper interview came out with me, but there’s no online link. I scanned it, but it’s not playing nice. Once I can open the file properly, I’ll upload it. I believe – and I can’t say too much – that ‘someone’ is looking at my short story for publication. This ‘someone’ is someone very important. Cross fingers and toes for me, please?

i’m afraid to watch the clip, because MY son might see it. He lives to destroy.
