Bloody Nigella has hoodwinked another male into her clutches

June 2, 2008

I suspect the coffee industry has got the tea industry by the cojones and is ever so slowly beginning to squeeze some fear into it; and because I suspect this was enough excuse for me to nod my head oh-so knowingly when the latest Nigella Lawson ads hit our shores for a particularly well-known British tea brand. Will the ample-bosomed and cashmere-garbed temptress draw us away from our coffee addictions?

No chance, I thought.

Then, in the bath the other night, Riley held up a little bath toy cup and said, ever so sweetly, “T is for Twinings.”

Too funny.

Way to go Riley.

I  my coffee but nothing beats a good cup of tea to pick me up out of the blues.

Coffee wins, hands down. Mostly due to International Delight’s amazing array of flavored creamers.

Can’t stand Nigella and I have the over-whelming urge to shove her head in the damn teapot everytime the ad comes on.
Besides….I drink Aussie breakfast tea, it puts hairs on your chest :P

I am so over those ads. Seriously, every time they come on I just want to throw things at the TV. Nigella’s awful cocky smile just annoys me! I’m with Jayne – shoving her head in the teapot sounds like just the ticket! :D

Yeah, I haven’t seen the ads. But coffee’s for morning/afternoon, tea is for evening/nighttime, no matter what Nigella’s wearing.

And is cashmere the best material to wear in the kitchen?

D. Paul – It’s every domestic goddessess uniform!

As for Ms. Nigella, look, I like her. But I guess like Jayne I reach a point when I just wanna….!! And, hey, it shows my bias. If she was promoting coffee, I don’t know if I’d even have a problem…?!

Oh, I hate those ads too. I used to like Nigella, but she sounds so pompous on those ads and so self-satisfied I want to slap her! Funny though, I was always a coffee girl, but now prefer good Aussie breakfast tea, like Jayne. Maybe I’m turning into my mother?
