It goes, I think, in some part, to my being a GenY-er girl, that I’ve never really before now taken much more than a passing interest in our elections. I’ve gone in the past because it was compulsory and voted according to the last television advertisement I remembered seeing. I’m not especially proud of my ambivalence, but there it is.
However, that’s changed this election.
I was proud to mark my boxes yesterday and last night I turned on the television to watch the broadcast results as soon as it began. I watched it keenly. Even Adam, who regards politics as the perfect form of analgesic, kept half an ear out for the latest breaking news.
Australia needed a change. We got it. Good.

I’m also doing NaBloPoMo. I have a 12 year old and I get so nostalgic seeing all the lovely kids of the other Mums who blog, I decided to walk down memory lane and post a photo of my baby from birth to now over the month of November! We’re up to 7 years old.
Glad you’re pleased by the election result!!
I heard all about it in Britain.
Hi arizaphale – Welcome !!
JLP – I’m curious to know what your media said about it?
So glad to hear of the change in your country with the election of a new hopefully more compassionate leader.
We are stuck her in the USA with a sad little man that is thinks some kind of war monger God is guiding him. He really needs to be in a psych ward not running a country.
Best of luck to the new direction you have wisely chosen.
Joseph
