Hilarious!

October 16, 2007

I’ve been reading everybody’s comments to yesterday’s post, and I’m here chuckling. There are some whacked out sub-consciousnesses out there! Some might might that perturbing; I find it outstanding!

I tell you, it’s been a lovely distraction too, because my son has decided he’ll give insomnia a try as a hobby. Just, you know, because he’s still a bit too young to skull beer out of a yard glass.

So our mornings have been beginning at 5.30am (c’mon daylight savings!) and last night he didn’t sleep until 7.30pm. No naps in between. Oh, no. That wouldn’t do.

I remember Keira went through a spell like this at about 20 months. It’s the I’ve-discovered-I-can-still-exist-and-function-without-sleep-and-although-it’s…

not-a-particularly-nice-state-of-being-I-don’t-care-because-I’m-asserting-my-own-independence kind of phase.

Which is fine for him, but by 4pm yesterday, I was dying for a lie down. Thank the stars my dad is here to help, otherwise there could’ve been trouble!

I hear you about the insomnia! My 16 month old just loves waking upthe house at the bright and sparkly hour of 5.15am, and is also, as I type, refusing to go to sleep. Late afternoons here are not a nice place to be at the moment!! Yes, bring on daylight saving (and this is when the older kids wont go to bed because “its not dark”)!!!
